supply expected to grow by about 1.4 Bcf/d y/y through the winter (Dec 2012-Mar 2013), natural gas needs to be deep within the coal stack in the Eastern power markets for the gas market to balance, assuming normal weather.
“This keeps a lid on gas prices despite tightening market fundamentals.” Barclays said in a report.
In December, unless weather patterns return to normal or become colder, there could be further downside to prices, as the y/y short fall in nuclear generation is due to more than halve in the month, lending less support to power burn.
For the final week in November, US natural gas storage withdrew about 73 Bcf, rather than the consensus of 65 Bcf, indicating the arrival of a firm demand picture.
The Eastern region took out 56 Bcf, while the West withdrew 3 Bcf. The producing region withdrew 14 Bcf. Residential and commercial demand increased drastically from last year’s level as heating degree days were 39% higher y/y.
The storage week in reference marks the end of the storage overhang, as the storage level has dipped below that seen at the same time last year.
Higher power demand also contributed to the tightening of balances as a large y/y short fall of nuclear generation (13 GW lower y/y for the week in reference) has checked the tendency of coal displacement.
Furthermore, y/y growth in production has come off significantly, indicating a decline in production growth rates. On Friday, natural gas for January delivery on the NYMEX closed at $3.542/Mmbtu.

5 TYPES OF TARDERS

1. Greedy Traders: They trade too big and risk too much because their only goal is the easy money. They usually end up blowing up their account.
2. New Traders: They have no idea how the markets work so their only goal should be knowledge. New Traders do well to stay students until they have done their homework. Rushing in to make money without risk management, a winning method, the right mind set, and a trading plan will result eventually in failure 100% of the time.
3. Arrogant Traders: Their only goal is to prove they are right and satisfy their fragile egos. Arrogant traders will lie, delete tweets and posts, never admit when they are wrong. When they are wrong they will hide it under a cloak, when they are right they will scream it from the roof tops.
4. Trend Traders: Their only goal is to ride a trend and make money. Trend traders will buy high and sell much higher, they will short and cover much lower. They look like genius’ and prophets in a trending market either way it trends but they look like they can’t even trade in choppy or whipsawing markets. In the long term they do very well.
5. Scared Traders: Their only goal is to not lose their capital. Scared traders will immediately close losing trades and also immediately take profits. They are very stressed out in trading due to not understanding the nature of trading itself or just can not handle the uncertainty or risk. They either need to do their homework to develop their faith in or if they have done the homework trading may just no be for them.

GOLD: Faces Further Downside Risk.

GOLD: Our outlook in the near term remains lower as long as Gold continues to hold and trade below 1,790.20 level. This leaves the possibility of further declines towards the 1,601.10 level. We may see a respite here but if that fails to occur, further declines could follow towards the 1,522.55 level, its Dec 2011 low. A break of here will open the door for further weakness towards its psycho level at 1,500.00. Its weekly RSI is bearish and pointing lower supporting this view.  Alternatively, the commodity will have to return above the 1,714.35 level to open further upside towards the 1,802.75 level, its Nov’2011 high and possibly higher towards the 1,84 outlook on Gold 50 level. All in all, Gold continues to hold on to its nearer term downside bias.
